A noble Companion, [not to be confused with the Albaanic eye of modernist critical analysis ], who related from the Messenger, may the peace and blessings of Allah be on him:

إِذَا كَانَ فِي آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ لَا بُدَّ لِلنَّاسِ فِيهَا مِنَ الدَّرَاهِمِ وَالدَّنَانِيرِ، يُقِيمُ الرَّجُلُ بِهَا دِينَهُ وَدُنْيَاهُ

At the end of time – in order for a man to establish his deen correctly and to see to his needs in the dunya – people shall have no alternative but to resort to silver dirhams and gold dinars.
